The immediate answer
The August 11 update is live as Carnival Hunt 0.5.6668, Steam build 24675641. This is a repair-and-refinement release rather than a content drop: it completes the Key Settings rework, targets several match-state and interface failures, improves tutorials and Awakening, adjusts map collision, and replaces several notification and movement sounds.
The installed client adds no new gear, items, maps, or recipes. It does add the data and interface pieces behind the control rework, ships the previously missing Korean catalogs, changes Spanish localization, and includes direct package changes across every major area named in the Discord post.
Replays, inventories, chat, and match state
The reliability pass fixes keyboard input in replays, intermittent chat opening, Show/Hide Cursor behavior, inventory desynchronization, a profile panel remaining after Awakening, and an equipped item disappearing when a Rope is placed. Replay, chat, inventory, controller, player-state, Awakening, confirmation, and unload-phase packages all change directly.
Player coverage is also addressed: the developers say missing players in statistics and the left panel should be fixed, and the Magician win statistic now tracks consistently. The cautious “should be fixed” wording is preserved because a static client comparison cannot prove every live roster or replication edge case.
Two matchmaking corrections—being placed on the opposite side after searching as Bunny or Hunter, and being unable to stop matchmaking—were marked as not requiring a client update. They are therefore official server-side changes, not findings from the downloaded package.
Sisters, Bunnies, and Magician fixes
- Premade Sisters should now receive their starting Keys.
- The Sisters should no longer catch Bunnies through obstacles, and their clothing should display correctly after Mirror travel.
- Bunny voice lines are disabled while playing dead.
- Gate bypassing and the Plaza 4F Impostor grab against a ziplining Bunny were fixed.
- The connecting-room cage Gear can be grabbed again, and a Bunny launched from a cannon should no longer collide with a Bunny standing on top of it.
- If a match is interrupted, the Magician now receives the kill reward and resources for every surviving Bunny.
- Selecting No in a confirmation window no longer causes the reported crash.
The relevant Sisters, Scissors, Bunny voice, cage, Gate, controller, player-state, cannon, Impostor, and statistics assets all changed in the installed package. Collision correctness and interrupted-match awards still require live reproduction because the authoritative result is decided at runtime or by the server.
The Key Settings rework is now packaged as a complete system
Six new data tables now separate Bunny and Hunter key configuration from Bunny, Magician, and Sisters validation rules, with a shared validation configuration table. A new gamepad key selector joins rewritten control, key-label, settings, and selector widgets.
The same pass fixes missing actions, missing validation, the Emote Wheel cursor, and smaller settings problems. Menu-opening performance was optimized, and the general and role-specific gameplay menus changed alongside the new control data.
Tutorial, Awakening, map, and collision work
Tutorial visual issues were fixed, the Magician can walk again in the tutorial, and broader tutorial improvements touch the manager, objective data, Rope event, tutorial maps, media hints, and tutorial widgets. Awakening received smaller follow-up adjustments after its Patch Note No. 5 rebuild.
Amusement Hall 3F has adjusted objective placement. Ring 2F fixes cover a Rope spot overlapping LeBox and the chandelier inside the Cupola; the Cupola opening should now support precise shots. Plaza, Carousel, Circus, Nocturne, Amusement Hall, tutorial, and several other room packages also changed, but only the locations named by the developers are treated as confirmed fixes.
Audio, VFX, and localization
The Magician gains a soft landing cue. New alert audio replaces the Magician invisibility, Sisters Scream, and maximum-Madness notifications, while new Glass Break and Teleport cues support the added Mirror-out sound layer. A lighter optimized Sisters landing animation replaces the previous asset.
Firework effects were optimized and adjusted. The package replaces the older colored-smoke Niagara system with a new smoke system and adds new impact audio, while the Firework projectile changes directly.
Korean is now genuinely present in the Windows client: five Korean localization catalogs were added and ko is staged by the game configuration. The Spanish game catalog also changed, matching the announced description-display fix. This closes the package gap left by Patch Note No. 5, which announced Korean before the audited client actually contained it.
Jack rewards changed; offer bands did not
The developers describe Jack's available rewards as optimized. The installed item-pool table was rewritten and no longer references Gold Chests, while the separate four-band offer-chance table and its legendary counter remain byte-identical. Static data identifies the catalog change but does not prove live selection odds or server overrides.
One unannounced crafting change is also present: the Common Collector recipe keeps its 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 quantity pattern but changes three material positions.
| Collector ingredient | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| 2-unit material | Common Scissors | Common Button |
| 4-unit material | Common Bolt | Common Bolt |
| 6-unit material | Common Watch | Common Mirror |
| 8-unit material | Common Button | Common Watch |
Installed-build additions and removals
A fresh UE 5.4 conversion completed with 15,139 packages and zero failures. Against build 0.5.6622, the audit found 195 changed matched files, 71 additions, 17 removals, and 584 case-only path changes across 37,814 current physical files. Those deltas resolve to 151 touched package roots. Of 4,642 loose files, seven changed and five Korean catalogs were added.
The meaningful additions are input-validation tables, a gamepad key selector, Korean localization, notification and Mirror audio, an optimized Sisters landing animation, and revised Firework smoke. The meaningful removals are the replaced landing animation, older impact audio, and older Firework smoke system; regenerated shader files account for the remaining physical removals. No player-facing gear, item, room, or recipe definition was removed.
All 15 core numeric sources behind match settings, Charge, scoring, progression, ranks, regions, chests, slot-machine offer bands, and floor loot are byte-identical. Those permanent guide values remain current through 0.5.6668.
Bugcatcher recognition is being prepared
The developers say they are compiling a list of players whose bug reports have actively helped the game. The first group will receive a Bugcatcher tag and its corresponding skin soon.
The reward is intentionally selective so the skin and status continue to recognize meaningful bug-reporting work. No recipient list, qualification threshold, or distribution date has been announced yet.
